Raymond Agustine Barskus

Raymond Agustine Barskus, 82, of Sawyer passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at his home.

A memorial mass will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 5760 Sawyer Rd., Sawyer, MI 49125. Friends may meet with the family from 10-11 AM on Tuesday at the church. Final resting place will be in St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery in Chicago. Memorial contributions may be given to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306. Online condolences accepted at www.PikeFH.com.

Ray was born on February 22, 1943 in Kaunas, Lithuania the son of the late Vladas and Matilda (Baltramonaitis) Barskevicius. On July 17, 1965 he married the former Elizabeth Dorn. Ray was a firefighter in Chicago for 35 years, retiring in 1998. He enjoyed traveling, fishing and boating.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth; three children: Raymond Barskus Jr., Kathleen Fair, and Daniel (Donita) Barskus; three granddaughters; and a sister, Zita Ewert.

Arrangements are entrusted to Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, The Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman.
