Raymond "Ray" Forbes Weber

Raymond “Ray” Forbes Weber, 67, of Lakeside, MI, passed away on October 15, 2023 after a tragic accident. He was surrounded by his family. He was born on September 8, 1956 in Berkeley, CA. He was a loving husband to Gay Morris Weber and a devoted father to Scott (Rebecca), Brooks, Ross (Lindsay), and Cole Weber.

Ray grew up in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, the youngest of four siblings. He was a graduate of Conestoga High School, Penn State University, and MIT Sloan School of Management. He worked for over three decades in renewable energy financing at Heller Financial and GE Capital, from where he retired in 2015.

Ray also was an active community member in Kenilworth, where he raised his family. He served on the board of the Kenilworth Assembly Hall Association and also NSSRA. He enjoyed bowling with the Kenilworth Men’s Bowling League for many years.

Ray loved spending time with family and friends at the lake, taking vacations, and watching sports (especially Penn State football). He was the life of the party, had a big personality, and an incredible sense of humor. Everyone loved to be around him. In recent years, Ray especially embraced his role as a caretaker to Cole. The two of them enjoyed going to local coffee shops, watching movies together, swimming in the pool, and sitting on the beach. Ray was a family man in every aspect, and his final act of generosity was to be an organ donor.

Ray was preceded in death by his father, Hal, mother, Betty, and older brother, Gary. He is survived by his older brother, Dan (Janet), and older sister, Connie Santroch (Jim), and many other extended family members.

A memorial service to celebrate Ray’s life will be held at Kenilworth Union Church, 211 Kenilworth Ave, Kenilworth, IL 60043 on Friday, October 20th at 2 pm, with a reception following at Michigan Shores Club, 911 Michigan Ave, Wilmette, IL 60091.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Ray’s memory to: The Logan Autism Center, 2505 E Jefferson Blvd, South Bend, IN 46615. Online condolences accepted at www.PikeFH.com.

Arrangements are entrusted to Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, The Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman.
