Reinhold “Reinie” William Ott, 87 of Bridgman passed away on Monday, June 12, 2017 at Hanson Hospice Center, Lincoln Township.
Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Friday, June 16, 2017 at the Boyd Chapel of Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman. Friends may meet with the family 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Bridgman American Legion, Post 331, 4241 Legion Street, Bridgman MI 49106 or Hospice at Home, 4025 Health Park Lane, St. Joseph, MI 49085. Burial and military rites will be in Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman.
Reinie was born October 22, 1929 in Bridgman the son of the late Reinhold and Gertrude (Musch) Ott. He worked for V-M Corporation in Benton Harbor and moved to Nogalos, Sonora Mexico to start a company there. He later worked for Regal Finishing in Benton Harbor. Reinie proudly served in the US Navy and was twice the past commander of the Bridgman American Legion Post 331. He volunteered at Lakeland Mercy Hospital, Benton Harbor, enjoyed traveling, loved animals, especially his five cats and was an avid wine maker.
Reinie loved and adored his amazing children; Denise (Marc) Snyder, Diane Ott-Stegman, Dennis (Karen) Ott, Doreen (Jerry Leach) Schultz, Dawn Ott and their beloved mother, Mabel Ott; grandchildren: Chip, Cody and Courtney Snyder, Sierra Stegman, Crystal (Ray) Triboulet,Tom (Chelsie) Schultz, David Ott and Kaylee Marcks; great grandchildren: Allegra and Atticus Triboulet.
Reinie was preceded in death by a brother, Rick Ott and a sister, Darlene “Fee” Krumrie.
