Richard Eugene Burkett

Richard Eugene Burkett, 90, of Bridgman passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at his home.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1 – 3 PM on Friday, August 4, 2023 at Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, The Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman. Richard was born on July 28, 1932 in St. Joseph, the son of the late Nelson and Mildred (Miller) Burkett. On December 1, 1952 he married Nancy Jonatzke and they shared 70 years together. Richard was a proud United States Army Veteran who served during the Korean Conflict. He worked at Paramount Die Casting for 32 years and at Bosch Braking Systems for 10 years. Richard also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors.

Survivors include his wife: Nancy; children: Joanna Janssen, Pamela Penley, Mark (Linda Lund) Burkett; eight grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; siblings: Mary Lou Smith and Norma Jean LoCicero.

Richard was also preceded in death by a son: Jeffery Burkett; siblings: Linda Schoonover and Robert Burkett.
