Richard Henninger

Richard "Richie" Eric Henninger,Jr., 37 of Dowagiac passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 after a brave battle with cancer.

Richie loved his family and his friends. Most of all he loved being a husband and a Dad. His favorite thing to do was being Grace's Daddy. He enjoyed singing competitions with Grace, teaching Grace how to make funny sounds and funny faces and reading his favorite books to her, his favorite being "Green Eggs and Ham". He often said "Being a Dad is the coolest thing in the world!"

Richie was blessed with a big heart and an amazing sense of humor always knowing how to bring laughter and a little bit of sunshine into everyones life. He was an inspiration to so many others always fighting with courage and a postive attitude.

Richie especially loved working with children probably because he was still a big kid at heart. He loved all holidays especially those that offered presents and/or candy. Sports was his all time favorite passion whether it was buying and trading cards or flipping through the channels watching as many games as possible at the same time. Go MSU, Duke, Chicago Bears and of course the CHICAGO CUBS.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, December 3, 2016 at The Boyd Chapel of Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman, MI with Reverend Jason Lukis officiating. As we celebrate Richie’s life on Saturday you are invited to wear your favorite sports team apparel in his honor. Friends may meet with the family from 5 - 7 PM Friday, at the funeral home. Richie was born December 16,1978 in Edison, New Jersey to Richard and Ursula (Korsching) Henninger Sr. On March 22, 2014 Richie married Crystal ;. Richie was a teacher in the Dowagiac Union Schools.

Richie is survived by his wife: Crystal; daughter Grace; mother Ursula; sister Erica (Jeff Stahl) Henninger-Stahl; nephew Greysen; brother-in-law Eric (Nicki) Campbell; sister-in-law Ashley (Anthony) Lozada; mother and father-in-law Diane and Floyd Campbell.

Richie was preceded in death by his father: Richard Eric Henninger,Sr in 2011.
