Richard Hildebrandt

Richard Hildebrandt of Baroda passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023.

Rich was born June 1, 1956 on his grandparent’s farm in Weesaw Township to Otto and Phyllis Hildebrandt nee Goodline. He grew up in Sawyer and attended Trinity Lutheran Church and School prior to graduating from River Valley High School in 1975.

Rich was always a hard worker, starting at a young age on the family farm. He held many jobs over the years, beginning in 8th grade at the Baroda Feed Mill. His jobs included working for Rambo Inc, Lake Township, grape farming and as a volunteer firefighter and first responder. Rich retired from Lake Township after 44 years in 2022, but continued on as a firefighter and first responder.

A farm boy at heart, he was an animal lover and a grape farmer for many years.  Rich enjoyed driving the backroads on his motorcycle or in one of the pick-up trucks from his fleet of vehicles. He was a fan of westerns and other classic TV. Rich looked forward to the annual deer season and quiet time spent in the woods. He also found time to reflect and meditate at the coffee shop.

Rich had a huge heart and was always willing to help anyone in need. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

Survivors include his wife: Deb; daughters: Evin Hildebrandt (Sudeep Perumbakkam) and Adri Boone (Justin); siblings: Cathy, Bev, Jerry, Linda, LuAnn (Darwin Eisenhart), David (Lorri); sisters in-law: Cindy Hildebrandt, Vickie Kaiser; brothers-in-law: Joe Koebel (Tina) and Jon Koebel; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother: James Hildebrandt; father-in-law: George Koebel; and brother-in-law: Gregory Kaiser.

Honoring Rich's wishes, a private family service was held on Friday, July 28, 2023.

If you wish to continue Rich's legacy of helping others, memorial contributions can be made in his name to Shiners Hospitals for Children or St. Jude.

Arrangements are entrusted to Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, The Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman.
