Ronald Dale Payne

Ronald Dale Payne, 75 from Bridgman, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 16, 2025 at Corewell Health South in St. Joseph.

A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, June 20, 2025 at Graceland Cemetery in Lake Township. A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, July 27 from 11 AM – 2 PM at Lake Township Park, South Pavillion, 10801 Gast Rd., Bridgman, MI 49106. Memorial contributions may be given to the family. Ron was born on March 20, 1950 in Three Oaks the son of the late Edward and Florence (Johnson) Payne. On April 28, 1979 he married the former Gloria Moneta. Ron battled diabetes, dialyses and heart trouble for years. He is now at peace.

He leaves behind his wife of 46 years, Gloria Payne; Ron's daughter, Monique (Brian) Schilling of Baroda; four grandchildren; a great grandson, Denny; a great granddaughter on the way; and nephew, Adam Rice.

Ron was a retired policeman and worked for New Buffalo City, Chikaming Township, Grand Beach and the Berrien County Sheriff's Department. He also worked for the railroad, Sysco and Lakeshore Schools.

He was an avid muscle car enthusiast and loved his Hemi. He also loved motorcycle riding and he and Gloria traveled to many of these great United States.
