Ron Schoenfelder passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026, following a long and courageous battle with heart disease.

Ron was born on October 1, 1946, in Stevensville, Michigan, to Bernice (Gaul) and Robert Schoenfelder. He graduated from Lakeshore High School, earned his undergraduate degree from Ferris State University, and later completed his master’s degree at Western Michigan University. A proud Vietnam War veteran, Ron served honorably in the United States Air Force from 1967 to 1971.

Ron dedicated the majority of his professional career to Whirlpool Corporation. After retirement, his love of cars led him to a second career that felt like a second home—Signature Toyota in Benton Harbor, Michigan—where he worked for more than 15 years. Friends and family alike trusted Ron with their vehicles, often stopping by just to see him. He loved asking visitors to snap a selfie with him so he could remember the moment and the joy of their visit. Ron never missed a chance to ask about their lives, and in return proudly shared photos and stories of his greatest joys: his grandchildren, River and Gigi (Mambelli).

So devoted was Ron to his work that he reported to his job—only to be gently sent home—just days before entering hospice care.

Above all, Ron was a devoted family man. He often referred to his beloved partner, Debbie (Barker), as his guardian angel sent from God. He was an incredibly proud father and grandfather. Ron regularly sent his daughter, Kiley, heartfelt messages of love, encouragement, and the occasional dad joke during his lunch breaks. In the evenings, he delighted in sending silly videos to River and Gigi, always thinking of them and keeping them close to his heart.

Ron’s family invites all who knew and loved him to an open house celebrating his life on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, from 1:00–4:00 p.m. at Coaches Bar and Grill in Stevensville. Guests are encouraged to come together, share laughter, and remember the many wonderful moments Ron brought into our lives. In Ron’s honor, please consider wearing a shirt from Lakeshore, MSU, or any team or school he proudly supported. Online condolences accepted at www.PikeFH.com
