Ruth Glavin

Ruth Erma Glavin of Sawyer went to meet her Lord on Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at Woodland Terrace, Bridgman.

Ruth was born August 26, 1914 in Bridgman, the seventh child of Frederick and Paulina (Klug) Essig. On December 25, 1940 she married Thomas R. Glavin and he preceded her in death on October 12, 1998. Ruth was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bridgman where she was a charter member of the Altar Guild. In her youth she was very active in Church Affairs. After graduating from the Twin City Business College, she was employed by the former Accounting Firm of Herkner and Frazier and retired from the former Bank of Three Oaks as Vice President and Auditor. She also was the President of the Michigan Chapter of the National Association of Bank Auditors and served on their Board for many years. Ruth and Tom enjoyed spending the winter months in Key West, Florida. Ruth was very fond of nature. One of her joys was to pick bouquets of flowers from her rose garden and take them to her relatives and friends. She will be missed by those who loved her.
