Sandra was born on December 2, 1951 the daughter of the late Robert and Rayella (Davis) Riske. She attended Baroda Elementary School, and graduated from Lakeshore High School in 1970. On April 4, 1969 she married Michael Nitz. Sandra worked in various roles for the United States Postal Service, and was also a farmer/owner of Hollyood Hills Vineyards, a wine grape growing operation.
Sandy had a very large talent base, and a never-ending quest to learn something new. Once she became proficient at something it was on to the next experience. Her talents included flower and vegetable gardening, wood carving, pottery, drawing, crochet, painter, amazing hostess, interior/exterior design, master crafter, weaving, cooking, baking, and canning. She was a reader, golfer, bowler, softball player, Sunday School teacher, seamstress extraordinaire, and she could catch fish. She loved doting on her grandchildren, they all loved crafting with Ahma! Sandra very much enjoyed all the winters in Florida on the lake.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Michael; children: Tessa (Gary) Zielke and Aaron (Jenny) Nitz; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and sister, Cheryl (Mark) Tollas.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Riske; sister, Diane (Tom) Baker; and grandson, Jay Zielke.
Arrangements are entrusted to Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, The Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman.
