Sherman Ott

Sherman Ott, 99 of Bridgman passed away Monday, October 2, 2017 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph.

A funeral service will be held 2 PM Friday, October 6, 2017 at Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman, with Reverend Jon Bendewald officiating. Friends may meet with the family on Friday from 1-2 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Sherman was born October 23, 1917 in St. Joseph, the son of the late Edward and Ruth (Johnson) Ott. He was a US Navy veteran and a member of the Bridgman American Legion Post 331. Sherman had worked for Sears and Whirlpool Corporation. On June 23, 1948 he married Ruth Louise Geik and they shared 65 years of life and love together. Ruth passed away on March 28, 2014.

Survivors include a daughter - Judith Hahn of Bridgman; son - James (Sherry) Ott of Bridgman; grandchildren - David (Danelle) Hahn, Timothy (Alietha) Hahn and Daniel Hahn; great grandchildren - Emma, Logan, Maddie and Natalia.
Sherman was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lori J. Ott in 1990 ; five sisters, and a brother.
