Stephen Murphy

Stephen Lee Murphy, 42 of Benton Harbor passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at his home surrounded by family.

A memorial service will be held 11 AM Friday, June 21 at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman. Friends may meet with the family from 10 - 11 AM prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Madison Murphy Education Fund.

Steve was born November 16, 1970 in Benton Harbor and was a 1990 graduate of Bridgman High School. He was a heavy equipment operator and dedicated employee with Kalin Construction Company in Sodus for 15 years. Steve was an avid Notre Dame and NASCAR fan, and also enjoyed working outside, landscaping and was a Master Gardener.

On October 10, 1998 he married Stefanie Lyn Myers and she survives along with their daughter, Madison. Survivors also include his mother, Penny (Ed Aho) Murphy of Benton Harbor; father, Dennis (Anne) Murphy of Bridgman; brother, Daniel Murphy of Fort Lauderdale, FL; father-in-law, Steve (Veronica) Myers of Bridgman and a special aunt, Terry Wallis of Watervliet.
