Theodore George Stama

Theodore George Stama, 72, of Bridgman passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023 at Corewell Health South, St. Joseph.

 

A Celebration of Life open house will be held from 4 -7 PM on Friday, August 18, 2023 at Pebblewood Country Club, 9794 Jericho Rd, Bridgman, MI 49106. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601. Online condolences accepted at www.PikeFH.com.

 

Ted was born on May 15, 1951 in St. Joseph, the son of Theodore and Geraldine (Meyers) Stama. He was raised in Bridgman and active in high school baseball (which he excelled in) and football. He graduated from Bridgman High School in 1969 and in 1975 received a BA in Education from Western Michigan University.

 

Ted worked as a welding inspector for various nuclear plants for a number of years. He was a co-owner of the family business, Pebblewood Golf Course, which he worked to upgrade. At the course, he met his future wife, Debra Silver. On July 22, 1990, Ted and Debra were married.

 

Ted belonged to Lakeshore Lanes Bowling leagues and loved bowling Tuesday and Thursday nights for many years. He also was a life long fan of the University of Michigan football team. Being a devoted father, he enjoyed watching his daughter, Laura, play various school sports. He also enjoyed traveling and spending time with family.

 

Ted is survived by his wife: Debra; daughter: Laura; brothers: Nick (Donna) Stama and Gary Stama; and numerous nieces and a nephew.

 

Arrangements are entrusted to Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, The Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman.
