Thomas Gerdes

Thomas Joseph Gerdes, 80, of Bridgman passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2008 at Jordan's Nursing Home, Bridgman.

Family services will be held in Illinois.

Mr. Gerdes was born March 17, 1928 in Blue Island, Illinois, the son of the late William and Lucille (Etgen) Gerdes. On June 2, 1951 he married the former Phyllis J. Kell. Tom was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bridgman and also belonged to the Elks Club.

Survived By his wife of 57 years, Phyllis; three children – Thomas L. Gerdes of Watervliet, Linda (Richard) Kasal of Manteno, Illinois, and Lori Gerdes of Stevensville; four grandchildren – Heather Chiarello, Brandon Chiarello, Pamela (Scott) Robbins, and Gregory (Mary) Kasal; one great granddaughter, Riley Kasal; and two brothers – William (Gladys) Gerdes of Florida and Ralph (M. Patricia) Gerdes of Illinois. Preceded in Death By two brothers – Clarence and Cyril; and a sister, Lauretta.
