Thomas Lee Vink, 57, of New Troy passed away on Wednesday , February 17, 2016 at his home.
A funeral service will be held at 10 AM Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Pike Funeral Home, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman. Friends may meet with the family 5-7 PM Friday, February 19 at the funeral home. Burial will be in New Troy Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan, 641 S Crystal Ave, Benton Harbor, MI 49022. A live stream of the funeral service may be seen below at 10 AM Saturday.
Tom was born December 29, 1958 in Chicago, the son of the late Elmer and Helen (Cunningham) Vink. He was a welder at Corvette Central the past 25 years. Tom loved his beloved dogs Chuck and Chloe and enjoyed taking walks in the woods with them. He also loved walking on Silver Beach with Dorothy and going to Silver Beach Pizza afterwards. Whether he was building model cars as a young boy or working on something in his garage, Tom took great pride in his work and exhibited precision in all of his many projects and accomplishments. He will be greatly missed by his many friends and his family.
Survivors include his beloved companion, Dorothy Knapp; sister Susan Swords of New Troy and her children Rachel Nathan and Jeremy. Survivors also include his stepson, William “Billy” (Nicole) Knapp of Temperance and his “grandchildren” Daniel, Alex, Drew and Ethan.
