Virgil Edward Davis, 90 of Sawyer, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at his home.
Funeral services will be held 10 AM Monday, March 20, 2017 at the Boyd Chapel of Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman with Reverend Aaron Mennsinger officiating. Friends may meet with the family 2-4 PM Sunday, March 19 at the funeral home. Burial will be in New Troy Cemetery, New Troy. As an expression of sympathy memorial contributions may be given to Hospice at Home, 4025 Health Park Lane, St. Joseph, MI 49085. Live stream of the service at www.PikeFH.com
Virgil was born June 12, 1926 in Stevensville, Michigan the son of the late Byron and Mary (Hoge) Davis. On Oct 7, 1950 he married Mildred “Millie” Josephine Konecny. Virgil was a US Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years Millie; children: Linda (Gary) Witkowski, Donald (Beth) Davis, Deana (Randy) Wisnaski, Virgil (Donna) Davis, Cindy (Dan) Bickerstaff, Byron (Linda) Davis, Lisa Vairn, Lloyd (Cheryle) Davis and Nona Dolan; 28 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren; and a brother: Lee (Deloris) Davis.
Virgil was also preceded in death by his brothers: Donald, Robert and Arthur; and a sister Marie.
