Zorabelle Fritz

Zorabelle Fritz, 86 of St. Joseph passed away Friday, May 16, 2014 at The Willows Assisted Living, Royalton Township.

A private family committal service was held at Spring Run Cemetery, Royalton Township with Rev. Christopher Noffke officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Battle Creek VA Medical Center, 5500 Armstrong Road, Battle Creek, MI 49037.

Zorabelle was born May 7, 1928 in St. Joseph County, Indiana the daughter of the late John C. And Orpha B. (Halt) Moyer. On Sept. 7, 1946 she married Melvin H. Fritz and he preceded her in death on May 5, 1983. Zorabelle will be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend. When she wasn't busy cooking, baking, or playing Yahtzee, Scrabble or Marbles with her family, she was making quilts. She enjoyed making quilts for family members, friends and countless friends of family members.

Survivors include her children - Kathleen (Harry) Lausman of Stevensville, David (Kim) Fritz of Baroda, Cindy (Mick) Klug of St. Joseph and Douglas (Julie) Fritz of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren - Carri (Patrick) Conlon, Steven (Kristen) Lausman, Amy Klug, Emily Fritz, Abby (Mark) Schilling, Laura Fritz, Renee Fritz and Stacia Fritz; a sister - Virginia Vanderboegh of Baroda.

Zorabelle was also preceded in death by a son - John Fritz in 1958 and two brothers - Gordon and Glenn Moyer.
