Darice Schmidt

Darice Jean Schmidt, 83, of Bridgman, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at Woodland Terrace, Bridgman.

Memorial Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, July 5, 2019 at Immanuel Lutheran Church,  9650 N. Church Street, Bridgman with Reverend Edward A. Meyer officiating. Friends may meet with the family on Friday from 10AM until the time of the service.  Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman. Darice  was born Saturday, August 17, 1935 in St. Joseph, the daughter of the late Daniel and Beatrice (Kelly) Koester.  Darice  married Wilhelm Schmidt on September 11, 1954.  She    managed the  Schmidt’s Blue Berry Farm. Darice was Friends of the Bridgman Public Library and was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church where she taught Bible classes and she was a member of the Altar Guild.

Survivors include her husband of 64  years, Wilhelm; children: William (Wendy) Schmidt and Ruth Schmidt; grandsons: Karl and Warren; brother: Daniel (Carol) Koester; Sister-in-law: Betty Mulholland.

Darice was preceded by a son Christian in 2007.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, the Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman.
