Joseph Carl Johnson, Jr., 88 of Bridgman passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Spectrum Health Lakeland, St. Joseph.

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM Monday, November 16, 2020 at The Boyd Chapel of Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman with Reverend Michael A. Hack officiating. Joe was born September 24, 1932 in Chicago, the son of the late Joseph and Helen (Marks) Johnson, Sr. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. On September 26, 1953 he married Carole Crockett and she preceded him in death on August 16, 2018. Joe and Carole were faithful members of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church. He was on the board of directors in Blue Island of the St. Francis Hospital and Blue Cap School.  Joe was a member of the Blue Island Fire Department and the Kiwanis Club.  He served on the Building Commission of Blue Island and Worth.

Survivors include sons: Jeffrey (Rebecca) Johnson, Craig Johnson, Bradley (Priscilla) Johnson; daughter-in-law: Jeanine Johnson; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren.

Joseph was preceded in death by a son: Mark Johnson; and two sisters, Eleanor Yates and Lavern Murphy.
