Robert Krieger

Robert “Bob” Louis Krieger, 87 of Bridgman  passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021 at Spectrum Health Lakeland, St. Joseph.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman, Father Arthur Howard officiating.  Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery, Bridgman.  Friends may meet with the family from 12 Noon - 2 PM prior to the service. Bob was born July 3, 1933 in Three Oaks, son of the late Robert and Ernestine (Schmidt) Krieger.  He  married his childhood sweetheart, Joan “Dolly” Rambo when he was on leave from the 82nd Airborne on September 11, 1954, they shared 55 years together, she preceded him in death on February 11, 2010. Bob worked 20 years for Harold Zieger Plumbing and then became a partner in Rambo Nurseries until his passing. He was a true outdoorsman and passionate about nature. He had a love for hunting, fishing, farming and gardening as well as being a rare bird owner and enthusiast.  He could always be heard whistling and never missed his grandchildren’s sporting events.

Robert  is survived by his four children: Robert (Jan) Krieger, Mark (Jennifer) Krieger, Pamela Krieger, and Cheri (Ted) Hendricks; grandchildren: Todd (Rachel) Hendricks, Natalie (Josh) Petiprin and Matthew Hendricks; great grandchildren: Sadie Hendricks and her soon to arrive sister; and Jett Petiprin; step grandchildren: Cheri (Mike) Melone, Tiffany Stone and Sara Conklin; step great grandchildren: Owen and Trent; siblings: Ruby May, Virginia Fryer, Mildred  Dolezel and Arlene Harfert; and a dear friend: Bonnie Miller.

He was preceded by his brother: Chester Krieger; sister: LaVerne Zieger; step-father: Richard Scovel; step-brother: Carter Scovel.
